My blogging has been somewhat irregular of late – RL and SL are both keeping me busy.

I’m still plugging along in my Visionaire course, though there are days where I just want to bang my head against the desk.

I’ve been meeting some great new people, though, and finding new things.  One of the students in my class is launching a new SL store, and she graciously shared one of her first creations with us.

The gorgeous book tree you see in the pic is her creation and it will be available at the next round of The Liaison Collaborative when it opens on December 7th. She will have other complementary pieces as well, so make sure you check it out.

As a bibliophile, this is possibly my most favorite SL Christmas tree ever. 😛

Infatuation – LOTD #271

I’ve been so busy working on dance projects that I haven’t had much time to take any photos.  So this week, while I have a bit of a break, it’s photo time!

When I take photos, I try to use new items I’ve acquired, and then I can sort them in inventory. I’ve gotten so behind and acquired so many things (thank you, free SL13B gifts!), my inventory was getting out of control.

I spent much of yesterday sorting and boxing and deleting – so cathartic!  Some of the things I had yet to unpack were Birdy’s items from The Arcade. A good friend gifted me the bikini (which is amazing and fits my Lara body perfectly), and I had the arm/leg chains and the headpiece from my own plays.  Add in some gorgeous hair from Truth, and Bam!

I haven’t worn my mesh heads in so long I’d forgotten how much I love them, especially for photos.  I have more time to play around with layers and modes in Photoshop if I don’t have to spend hours smoothing out spiky bits!

I can’t wait to finish opening boxes and find out what other treasures are waiting inside. 😛

It’s been a while since I did a LOTD post – which is too bad, because I’ve collected so many fantastic things since my last one!

I’m still having a lot of fun playing around with lighting and projectors in-world.  I needed a new profile pic as well, so I set to work.

The wallflowers are by ChiC Buildings and are available in three different versions at On9.  The dark version is pictured here.

The hair is the latest from Truth – the Fenella hair currently available at Uber.  It comes with or without the hat – this is the hatless version, obviously. 😛

I’m in love with this necklace from Bauhaus Movement, which I picked up at Shiny Shabby.  You can’t see the colors in this photo, but they are fabulous!

From Glitzz (quickly becoming one of my favorite stores), I added the Ophelia headband.  A versatile piece and one that will be a costuming staple, I’m sure.

Also from Glitzz is the lingerie – Becky in black.  It comes with various appliers (I always appreciate when there is a Maitreya applier so I don’t have to go hunting for my Omega relay!).

Last but not least, one of my favorite shoes from Friday – the Kendall platforms in coal.  I love the way the ribbons look on the legs.

Goodness and Light – LOTD #260

I had some extra time today, so I have been going through all my goodies and trying to get organized.

A never-ending process, to be sure, given my shopping addiction. 😛

So many things I love about this picture, not the least of which is the gorgeous skin from Glam Affair.

With Skin Fair set to open in a week (on March 11th), I am excited to see what newness awaits.  Since I have become a mesh head collector, I am curious to see what appliers I will see/find that work with my mesh heads.

I had been wearing the same skin for years (literally) and found a new one I liked at last year’s Skin Fair.  This year, with more heads and options, I can’t wait to see all the gorgeousness. 🙂

The dress is from Sakide – a new-to-me designer, but I love the flowy feel of this dress.  It comes with a texture HUD, so there are lots of color options.

When I saw these foot wraps from Friday, I had to pick them up – I have the previous set she released, and I use them all the time.  I’m sure I will use these just as often!

The jewelry is from Real Evil Industries, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite jewelry designers.  I just picked up a set of rings over at the Whore Couture Fair that I was drooling over.

I think I’ve finally unpacked all the goodies I picked up at the current round of Shiny Shabby.  So many great gifts from designers!

When I saw this lingerie set from AMD, I knew I wanted to use the Exposeur “Red Light Showcase” prop I picked up at the sale.

The lingerie set comes with appliers, so a couple of clicks and I was all set.  Then I found these fantastic heels from Azoury.

Pumec had a gift set out, so I grabbed it, though I’ve never tried any of their skins.  Wow – such a generous and gorgeous gift!  A system skin and appliers for everything, including my Maitreya body and my Lelutka heads.  I’m in heaven. 😀

Definitely going to head over to Pumec and check out what I’ve been missing!

I’ve been inspired the last several days to do LOTD posts.

Part of the inspiration was the fantastic sale at Exposeur – so many items I’ve wanted, but had resisted buying. 😀

So when they announced the sale, I ran right over and picked up all the goodies – including this fantastic princess tower.

I know I’ll get good use of it – both as a photography prop and as a prop in a future set.

The adorable hair is a group gift from Truth – one of my favorite hair stores.

The outfit is from BE Designs – a new store for me, but I love this outfit.  It comes with system layers and appliers, so I can use it for photos with my mesh body and also have the option to wear it onstage if I wanted. 😀

If you haven’t been to Exposeur, take a trip over to the mainstore. I think the sale is still on, but even if it isn’t, there’s a ton of great items. 🙂

The sunlight was absolutely glorious, and she paused, letting the warmth of the sun kiss her skin.

She giggled girlishly and spun in a quick circle; her spirits lifted.

When I saw the ad from Caverna Obscura, I was instantly in love with it.  It was a gacha, but if the outfit is cute, I don’t mind playing a gacha, since the whole copy/mod issue isn’t relevant for clothing.

And thus started my descent into the black hole of gacha.  😦

I played the machine a handful of times and got most of the pieces I wanted, the white/silver ones. I got a couple of rares in the gold, so I sold them off.

This outfit had so many pieces that I never managed to get all of them. I used the L$ from the sales of my extras to go back and keep playing.

But the rare white top eluded me.  No matter how many times I tried, I never won it.  After 3 trips to the event to play additional times, I finally gave up.

I spent enough L$ to have just purchased the outfit outright several times over. 😦

After the event was over, I was hoping the machine would appear in the store, but it didn’t.

So, to Marketplace I went, and I found exactly one person selling the piece I needed.  I bit the bullet and bought it, because at this point, after spending the GDP of a small country, I couldn’t stomach the thought of not having a complete outfit.

I do love the outfit.  It has, however, cured my gacha fever.

For a while, anyway. 😀

I’ve had some fun playing around with the last couple of LOTD pics.

I generally don’t do a lot of editing for many LOTD pics, because I want readers to see the items as they actually appear.

So it was nice to let my inner child out to play for a bit with filters and overlays and all the other new things I’ve learned. 😛

I’m also still loving the Genesis heads.  This look is the Angie head, picked up from a gacha machine.  A mesh head for $99L.  Can’t beat it!

It’s been a little while since I did a LOTD pic.  I was starting to go into withdrawal!

I’ve been busy wrapping presents, sending cards, and shopping, shopping, shopping. 😀

I even managed to find time to do some of those things in SL. 😛

I love the fun holiday print of the dress, and the earrings come with a HUD that lets you change the metals, the stone color, and the design on the bead.  Very versatile!

One of my favorite buys this holiday season is this amazing hair from Magika.  It comes in two versions, with or without the sparkling lights.  (Note: The colored sparkles are part of my post-processing; the hair only has white lights in it.)  It’s such a fun look and so great for your holiday parties!
