LOTD #198 – Downtown

LOTD 198

Hip popped, eyebrow raised,

She nodded towards the sign,

Her eyes questioning.

7 Emporium – Dancing Girls Neon Sign

Timo’s Creations – Do Not Enter Sign

Creator Unknown – Woman at Work Sign

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because I’m cheap a discriminating consumer, I always make it a point to stop by the bi-annual Cart Sale at The Wash, held by the wonderful folks over at Fab Free.
If you’ve never been, you should definitely go – tons of stuff on sale for as low as $10L – including this absolutely stunning skin from Lumae that I’m sporting here.
It comes with appliers for every mesh part/head/body you can imagine, and it’s all only $10L!!
I hate fussing with appliers, but this was super easy – 2 clicks to apply and I’m ready to go.
I love this skin so much, I’m going back to pick up some more – and if you’re not into mesh pieces and parts, it comes with all the system layers too!
While at the cart sale, I came across this sexy vintage romper and bought it (at only $10L, you can’t go wrong) and it is smokin’.
I paired it with these fab heels from Hucci and some vintage hair from Truth.
I’m a sign collector, so I dug through my inventory and pulled out these gems.
7 Emporium is one of my favorite creators – I love the style and feel of the items.
And who doesn’t need a ‘Dancing Girls’ neon sign, right?!
The ‘Woman at Work’ sign is so old that I can’t locate the creator, but it’s a classic. 😀
For this photo, I used my Perfect Effects program and found this vignette overlay – I love the subtle black at the edges.
I better get back to work – hope you all are enjoying your Monday!
LOTD #197 – Kept Waiting
LOTD 197
She paused a moment.
He was late; she loathed waiting.
She frowned, debating.
As I approach 200 LOTD posts, I find myself debating how to change them up and make them more interesting.
During a conversation with Yummy about literary devices (she started it, honest!), she mentioned that she had thought my captions for the LOTD posts were intended to be haikus.
While that was not my intention, I can see how my short captions could be interpreted that way – a ‘Katku’ as Yummy dubbed it. 😛
So, I’ve decided to write actual haikus (starting with this LOTD post) and see how it goes.
I’ve always liked haikus – I think the brevity and the rigid format appeals to the minimalist in me.
I’ll see how it goes – if nothing else, it certainly forces me to think more carefully about my word choices and imagery, which is good practice.
I’ve been on a vintage kick lately thanks to my repeated visits to the Vintage & Cool Fair, and now the FAD event has a round going with ‘vintage’ as the theme, so I shall be heading over there later.  There’s a cute poodle skirt I’ve got my eye on. 😛
I absolutely adore this hair from Vanity (another stop on my t0-visit list) and this dress from Dead Dollz is just gorgeous.
I love the bow, and the lace top is an applier for my mesh bod.
I must confess, I don’t like fussing with all the appliers. I find myself sticking to skins that are built-in to my Lelutka head and Maitreya body, and though I own a gross ton of nail appliers, I rarely use them, instead making do with the shades that are built-in to the Maitreya HUD.
I wish there was a way to insert/add new appliers into the HUD.  Sigh.  A girl can dream, right? 😀
The shoes are a MP find from KC Couture and were the perfect touch for this outfit.
LOTD #195 – Purple Love
LOTD 195
Purple was his favorite color.
Lilac, violet, mauve, eggplant, periwinkle, plum, amethyst, mulberry, or orchid.
He loved them all.
It’s been a busy week for me, so I’m behind on my LOTD posts.
So, of course, when I sat down to work on them, my computer goes bananas and I have to spend over an hour troubleshooting and restarting to get rid of the (still) unidentified gremlins in the system. 😛
I did manage to make it to the Vintage and Cool Fair and I picked up this gorgeous corset dress from Mon Cheri while I was there.
I love pastels, and this soft lilac was one of my favorite colors in the line.
I don’t remember where I picked up this hair from Elikatira, but I love the long straight lines of it.
I’ve been wearing my IKON eyes forever and when I saw these new ‘electric’ blue eyes, I had to have them.
I still haven’t taken off my Lelutka head – I’ve forgotten what I look like underneath!
You can’t see them in this photo, but I’m wearing some super-cute vintage sling-back heels from KC – I’m hoping to feature them in a blog post over on I ❤ Shoes SL (my new shoe blog – if you’re a shoe lover, follow me over there!).
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend – there are lots of fairs and sales this weekend, so make sure you get all your shopping in!
Can you believe it’s almost September??!!
LOTD #194 – All Attitude
LOTD 194
Her piercing blue eyes didn’t miss anything.
She stopped in front of the car and assumed a pose that was all attitude.
He couldn’t help but laugh.
I’ve been a busy girl lately.
I’m working hard on new projects, but I did finally find the time to make it to a couple of events.
I’d never been to the Festival of Sin before, so I enjoyed walking around and seeing everything.
My favorite shoe store, Essenz, had a gacha for their gorgeous Boca Raton heels, so I couldn’t resist.
I’m a sucker for shoes, what can I say? 😛
I also managed to get into the Vintage and Cool fair (not an easy task, mind you).
I love vintage and retro styles, and I will be going back several more times before the fair closes, I am sure.
On my first trip, I picked up this cute little summer dress from G Field.
I love the white ruffled bib and the bow.
G Field also has a free gift out of some cute polka dot slingback heels, so make sure you don’t miss those!
Vanity hair is a new-to-me store, but when I saw this retro beehive hairdo, I knew I had to have it.
Vanity also had a $1L gift – a cute little tiara that works perfectly with the Moonriver hair, so I grabbed that too.
A quick search to find a suitable retro sim and voilá – instant sass. 😀
Electrobit City – ‘You’ve died, and have been thrown from this reality! ‘
This looks interesting – definitely going to have to remember to check it out!
Cait's World
Those of you following me and my adventures on this blog know I am a terrible gamer. I just cannot play video games that require moving, shooting, running and escaping even if my real life would depend on it.
I do like how it all looks though and I guess that’s my problem: I love to look around and admire the graphics, the colours and everything and then before I have found the right button to push it is in most cases like the subject of this blogpost ‘You’ve died, and have been thrown from this reality!‘ .
That’s okay with me, I will stick to Candy Crush Soda and Mahjong. Also fun….ahem.
