My Attic at the Deck – It’s My Party

It was almost time.

Yesterday saw the opening of another round of My Attic at the Deck.  I love this event, not least because everything is $95L or less. 😀

This round’s theme is “It’s My Party,” and there are some fabulous items.

When I saw this bed from W. Winx & Flair, and then the pajama set from Sn@tch, I knew immediately I wanted to do a slumber party pic.

The bed has several built-in poses, including some for two/three avatars.  Since I’m partying solo in this pic, I added my teddy bear to the bed – because all girls have a teddy bear, right? 🙂

The bed also has several texture options for the cover so you can match it to your own decor.

The string lights and the champagne bucket and glasses are from Chic Buildings – because what’s a party without champagne?!

The balloons and the gold champagne bottles are from Uncertain Smile (there’s also a cake and a table in the set).

The celebrate sign is something I picked up at 6th Republic from Keke.  I just tinted it purple to give it more of a ‘party’ feel. 😛

The pj top and bottom are from Sn@tch, and the bottoms come in a huge variety of colors.  Cute and fun, so I chose a cute and fun hairstyle from Truth to match.

As a bonus, the pigtails let me show off the adorable earrings from Elysium.  There’s a necklace in the set as well, though I’m not wearing it here.

I added a few particle bubbles for a fun effect, and it’s definitely a party!

My Attic is open from now until November 30, so don’t miss out.

I was starting to have withdrawals, I hadn’t taken a LOTD picture in so long. 😦

There have been so many events and hunts lately that I was getting overwhelmed.

A ton of stuff, and no time to open it all!

Purple Moon is having another Halloween hunt, and I just love her designs, so I rushed right over to do it.

Lots of wonderful goodies, and not everything is orange, so yay! 😛

I also stopped off at the current round of Genre, which is urban-themed.

I had a few moments to myself to open boxes and sort through things today, so I did.

And the Lelutka heads were just updated to include expressions, so I had to try them out.

The hair is a freebie find from Lelutka – it’s in the mainstore in the hair section (obviously), and it says demo, but it’s wearable (no giant sign above your head) and it comes with all the color HUDs so you can make it any color you want.

The jacket, pants, and adorable purse are from the Purple Moon Halloween hunt.

I went to the Boho Culture fair and picked up this great jewelry set from Elysium (it was either free or $1L – I can’t remember which).

The fabulous boots are from N Core, currently out at Kustom9.

You can change them via HUD to be ankle, knee, or thigh high boots – so versatile!

The pose is a free gift from addme at The Seasons Story.

The great grungy backdrop and barrels are from Circa Living, currently out at Genre.

I picked up a couple of these ‘photoscenes’ from Circa – inexpensive and so terrific for backgrounds in photos. 🙂

I still have a ton more things to open, so I will be working on more LOTD pics soon.

This isn’t what my attic looks like, though I would spend a lot of time there if it did!

No, I’m talking about the My Attic @ The Deck event, which opens today.

My Attic has long been one of my favorite events, because they have fabulous designers and it’s easy on my pocketbook. 😛

Everything is priced $95L or less, and there are some really fantastic items in this round.

The theme this round is ‘Town and Country’ and I’m covered head to toe in gorgeous designs.

The hair is from EMO-tions – quickly becoming one of my favorite hair designers.

I love the casual, mussed look of it – and the tie is color change, so you can match it to any outfit.

The oxford/sweater vest combo is from The Annex – part of their complete outfit which comes with the top and pants.

When I opened the box from Whippet & Buck (a new-to-me designer), I fell in love with this adorable tweed skirt from the neutrals pack.

The bracelet is part of a set from Cae, which comes with earrings, a necklace, and bracelets.

I’m not usually a flats kinda girl (I love my heels), but these Greta loafers from Elysium are just too cute!

There are lots of color choices – the aqua marine are shown.

And in case you thought it was just clothing at My Attic, fear not. 😛

The large table and the console table from Uncertain Smile can be found there – as well as a chair, a shelf, and a side table.

My Attic runs from September 21 until September 30, so don’t miss your chance to pick up some fabulous items at amazing prices!

Busy Weekend

Busy Bee

Things are busy in both worlds this weekend!

Yesterday I took a class on using social media and my brain is on overload trying to absorb all the information.

I’m trying to sort out what applies to me, what doesn’t, make a plan, and figure out how to get from A to B to C. 😀

Now that I’m writing on 3 different blogs (yes, I am crazy, I know!), time management is going to be a huge issue for me.

Add into that all the RL activities that keep me busy, and I have a recipe for disaster.

For now, I have some decisions to make, and then I will know where my focus needs to be.

Besides all the things going on in RL, there are a ton of things going on in SL this weekend.

Today at 3pm The Waterfront Theater (Bubs & Didds) have a show – the shows are always fun, so if you haven’t been, mark this one on your calendar.

Also at 3pm, Lady Garden Cabaret has their monthly show (it isn’t strange how shows always seem to end up at the same time?!).

Then there are the regular weekend shows – Elysium at 6pm, Guerilla Burlesque at 7pm and midnight tonight (last shows of this season), Elysium’s monthly matinee at 1pm and Moulin Rouge at 7pm on Saturday, and Winds of the Sahara at 5pm on Sunday.

Whew!

That should keep all you dance lovers busy whilst I attend to RL matters. 😛

Happy Dancing!!!

There it was – snapped right as she realized she’d lost her earring.

Her mother had given them to her, and she was inconsolable at the loss.

Elysium Show

I am usually busy in RL on Friday nights, so I don’t often get a chance to go to the shows at Elysium.

RoniAboriginalI was able to make the show last week – and learned the show was celebrating Australia Day.

There were several aboriginal-themed acts.

Roni Saunders did a nice job with her routine, including some animated textures of aborigines, and a nice set build.

You can’t tell in this picture, of course, but the texture on the hills and platform was animated, making for a very interesting effect.

There was also a circus routine, a few choruses of Waltzing Matilda, and a disco number.

KellanDiscoThe disco number was very well done, with lots of visual interest.

There were dancers who descended on platforms and lots of laser lights.

The couples dancing was well-integrated into the choreography.

Some very interesting and entertaining acts, so if you find yourself at loose ends on a Friday night, be sure to check out Elysium.

Coming Soon

It’s been a rough couple of days – my husband has been fighting a computer virus, and for a while there, it looked pretty dicey.  After several days of round-the-clock monitoring, we think we are finally virus-free!  Now I can get back to work – I have Fantasy Faire to explore, Toysoldier’s exhibit (and the Elysium dance) to see, gachas to play, and, I’m sure, shoes to buy!

I had another chance to see Paradise Lost yesterday, so I will be posting pics of that (which are MUCH better this time around thanks to my new graphics card!), blogging about Fantasy Faire, and Toysoldier’s art exhibit, so keep an eye out for those posts.

It’s going to be a busy day for me – I hope I can fit in some dancing somewhere!

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend, and

May the 4th be with you!!!

Elysium – Creation Begats Creation

Each month, the Elysium dancers are given a challenge.  They create dances/performances based on the challenge.

This month, they were challenged to create performances inspired by the artwork of Toysoldier Thor.  (His artwork is truly inspiring – please check it out if you have the chance!)

6 dancers performed in ‘Creation Begats Creation’ at the Elysium Amphitheatre.  I took a lot of photos, but am just posting one per number for the sake of space.  (I could post them to Facebook, so if you’d like me to do that, let me know.)

First to perform was LilAngels Resident.  Her dance was inspired by a work titled ‘Frost Forest.’  It was a beautiful, lovely, lyrical dance.

The icy color palette was lovely.

Next up was Bevin and her dance, inspired by ‘The Princess and the Goblin.’

This, too, was a lovely, lyrical dance, albeit with a warmer feel than Lil’s.

After Bevin was Jilley, inspired by ‘Spiritual Grandeur.’

Jilley - Spiritual Grandeur

The sets for all of the dances were simply amazing.  (I’m not a great builder, so I admire those who can!)

Winnie came next.  Her dance was inspired by a piece called ‘Love’s Crush.’  She danced to “Who Wants to Live Forever’ (one of my favorite songs) and did a beautiful lyrical dance, complete with a story about her own real life battle with cancer.  It was very moving.

After Winnie’s emotional dance, Georgie took the stage, inspired by a work called ‘Killing Field.’  It was another emotional tale, her graceful dance set amidst a field of war.  She had a very cool effect with a scene change, from the field to a cemetery with old soldier’s ghosts fading in and out, but my old computer didn’t render the textures fast enough to get a good pic. 😦

Everything was amazingly detailed, and I loved her costume, complete with dirt smudges on her face.

Last but not least was Babypea with a dance inspired by ‘Hillbilly Airways.’  She had a number of set changes, starting with a phonograph encircled by goats, a giant dragonfly, a hobbit-like house, and more.  It was definitely a hillbilly spectacle!  Complete with yodeling and lederhosen, done as only Babypea could:

I love the idea of challenging others to create, and the idea of using someone’s art as inspiration is wonderful.  If you missed this show, be sure to watch for next month’s challenge.  I can’t wait to see what these amazingly talented people come up with next!

Happy Dancing!
