Check out this contest from Razmataz! You have until July 30th to complete it. Try out your photography and costuming skills. If you participate, be sure to add your photo to the Flickr pool so I can see your awesome photos!
Hey guys! I wanted to tell you about this pose contest from Razmataz. Who would be interested in such a contest, you ask?
1. People who like taking pictures, either professionally or recreational 2. Those who always wanted a picture taken by a professional (one of the prizes!) 3. People who always wanted to make a certain pose for that certain outfit or prop (also one of the prizes)
The contest ends on July 30th, so you still have time to enter!
How to enter this contest?
1. Get a pose from the Razmataz store (poses are only 15L each).
2. Take a photo that clearly shows the pose – the more creative, the better.
3. write your name on the photo, as well as a new pose name that you came up with for the pose.
4. Send the photo full perms to Melonie Romano or place…
That’s something I tell my children almost daily. Today, I was cruising through my Reader, checking to see if there was anything interesting on the blogs I follow. (Side note – the sidebar on my WP Reader has moved from the right to left – I don’t like it. This better be some Halloween prank by WP. -.-) Anyway, I read that Linden Labs is running a promotion for premium memberships right now. See here if you want all the details.
In addition, they are offering some Halloween gifts for premium members (I always appreciate a free gift, even when they’re few and far between. :-D). They are also having a photo contest. I always wish that I could take better photos of SL (I’m still looking for the kind soul who wants to buy me a brand new iMac just so I can do that!), so I clicked over to read the contest rules. Pretty standard stuff, but there was one line that caught my eye.
“Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes.” What? My curiosity was piqued, because my husband is Canadian. I wondered if this was some Halloween joke or if it really is a requirement for Canadians. (Nothing surprises me when it comes to Canadian law. They way they do certain things up there makes no sense. Granted, America isn’t at the top of the list when it comes to government/law and common sense.) So I headed to Google (because Google knows everything) and apparently it is a law in Canada that in order to win a prize, you have to a answer a ‘skill question.’
The supposed reason behind the requirement is that answering a ‘skill question’ makes it not a ‘game of chance,’ because those are not legal in Canada. And according the information I found on Google, the ‘skill question’ is usually something like ‘2+4/6,’ so they’re not difficult questions. It just struck me as odd.
Of course, you can also email money to people in Canada, something you can’t do in America. (I’m not sure if I’d want to do that or not – it’s certainly convenient, but I’m not sure I trust the internet that much.) I wonder what other weird requirements other countries have?
Sound off – let me know – what weird stuff does your country require?
