Today is February 1, and that brings with it a whole lotta news!!

First, today at noon SLT is the opening of MadPeas new game, Buried.

From all the accounts I’ve read, it looks to be one of their best games yet.

It will use experience keys where possible, and introduces geo-caching to SL.

I would love to start first thing, but the site where the game launches is a homestead, which means the avatar limit is 20.

So, I will likely wait until the 2nd or 3rd before beginning the game.

It will run for two months, but I can’t wait to get started!

This weekend also brings the closing of the latest round of The Tattered Page event.

They will be announcing the book for the next round soon, so I am looking forward to that.

Firestorm has started up a new video feature, called Tool Tip Tuesday.

If you use the Firestorm viewer, you know that it has a million features – many of which users are unaware.

Their first video was about Camera Tools.

I knew many of the shortcuts – except for the bit about walking down aisles in stores while leaving your camera viewing the walls.

I will definitely be using that one!!

I can’t wait to see what other neat tips and tricks I will learn from this series.

While I was lurking in a group chat the other day, they were discussing large inventories and how to box things up.

Using zdrop was mentioned, so I went and looked it up.

It’s an easy way to transfer a lot of inventory items into a prim/box, without having to worry about that pesky ‘inventory creation failed’ message, and without having to wait for the inventory to show up in the contents.

I don’t have a huge inventory, but it’s definitely a tip I can use. 😀

SLPremiumGiftsIf you are a premium SL member, don’t forget to go pick up the latest gifts (like I keep forgetting to do).

Gifts include a snowmobile and a snowboard, so if you’re interested in those, go pick them up!

I may even take a short trip to the Winter Wonderland LL set up and see what’s happening there.  🙂

If you’ve been thinking about becoming a premium member, they are offering a discount.

The Avi Choice Awards – the Arts have closed nominations and are finalizing the ballots.

Voting will open on February 2nd and the awards ceremony will be held on February 28.

There are lots of awards related to dance, so don’t forget to vote!

February also brings The Burlesque Fashion Fair and a performance by the Luxe Girls.

I can’t wait to go and see what delicious burlesque-y goodies are there!

Later in the month, the long-awaited Sci-Fi Convention opens.

It will run from Feb. 20th through Mar. 1st.

It sounds like it will be a ton of fun, and it supports a terrific cause, Relay For Life.

I also just got a notice that Idle Rogue is holding auditions for their April performances of Le Cirque de Nuit.

You can read all the details here – Le Cirque was an amazing show, so if you want to be part of it, get busy!

So even though February is the shortest month, it is chock-full of fun and entertainment.

Don’t miss it!
